Today was our LAST day in Cayman, unreal. As usual, we woke up in the morning and headed to the beach. However, today Annie stayed behind- NO amount of persuasion was getting her out of that bed. Side note, I think today was the hottest it’s been all week. We stayed for a couple hours; I started to feel a weird, aggravating prickling on my lower legs, so we decided to head back. The prickling was super itchy, too. We tried to diagnose it via Google. The girls were convinced it was bedbugs…..however, we soon found out it was heat rash, also known as prickly heat. Thank god, cause I hate bugs and I would prefer to continue sleeping in my bed.
After the official diagnosis, Granny Annie gave me this soothing bath stuff with colloidal oatmeal in it that’s supposed to help, so I forced myself to take another bath….again. Ugh. It helped a little though. You should see my knees though, they’re all bumpy with the rash! Yikes. After my bath/shower, we all decided to nap….as usual. When I got up, I jumped in the shower again to get ready for our night, then we packed up most of our things, cleaned, etc ☹. None of us want to leave!
The three of us finished getting ready, then headed down to the beach to see the sunset & take some pictures. Of course, there’s a giant cloud covering the horizon- we can see the glow of the sun from behind it, but nothing too exciting. Not that it still wasn’t pretty! The air (and the water!) was the perfect temperature too. We came back to the condo to quickly rinse the sand off our feet then headed to dinner at the Irish pub Annie’s been dying to go to. Kerilyn & I are amused by this, as Annie is leaving for Ireland for a month in less than three weeks…. Anyways, the food was so good! My turkey club actually had real, thick slices of turkey in it, not the sliced crap they usually give you. I’m still full.
After dinner, walked all the way to George Town to get margaritas at Margaritaville….and they were closed! WTF, it was barely 9 p.m.! So….we walked all the way back, in our cute little dresses. Everyone wanted to give us a ride, obviously. In total, we counted about 47 beeps, but we lost track. We got a few cat calls too….one man even slowed down to a stop to start asking us where we were going. Just over there sir, but thanks anyways!
On the walk back, we also stopped for ice cream, which quickly turned into a puddle 5 minutes down the road, & Annie witnessed the dead iguana from a couple days ago, now in about 48 pieces. As we were nearing our condo, a couple guys cat called us. Whatever, no big deal…until they started following us. We walked very, very, VERY briskly until we got to our resort, then the three of us literally broke into a sprint and didn’t stop til we were at the door. Pretty exciting for our last night? We think so. GOODNIGHT!
